Bela Borsodi for Yalook – Faces
9. June 2009 Art & Fashion

15 years of setting up bags, clothes, sunglasses and jewels in still lives without getting bored – this needs a huge portion of passion. 15 years of developing fresh ideas, of avoiding repetition but continuously upgrading the level of visual storytelling – maybe this is pure genius.

Like no other, New York-based artist Bela Borsodi ads character and identity to lifeless fashion pieces. His still-life series are storytelling artworks, the protagonists: clothing and accessories.
Bela Borsodi´s last coup: the “faces” series for the new online store Yalook. In unremitting handwork, the artist folded and placed clothes from the Yalook assortment in mask-like faces. Here is more to see.
