The Virtual Shoe Museum
21. June 2008 Art & Fashion, DIY & Customizing, Rare & Limited, Shoes & Sneakers

Liza Snook´s Virtual Shoe Museum is one of the most interesting databases for all kind of „shoe”-themes. In 2004 Snook called on artists, designers and photographers from all over the world to present their creations. Thanks god - they respond the call and helped to create a sweeping and very well arranged virtual exhibition, that is ordered by various criteria like Designers, Styles, Usage, Color, Materials, …
I was looking for the experimental and artsy shoes. But although those who search for danceshoes, cowboy boots, High Heels, high-tec creations etc. will discover amazing stuff in the Virtual Shoe Museum.

Limited Jewellery Art - Artist Rob Ryan hooked up with Tatty Devine
13. May 2008 Accessories & Jewelry, Art & Fashion, Designers & Labels, Rare & Limited![]()

While British artist Rob Ryan is famous for his unusual paper cuts and screen prints
the fabulous Tatty Devine Girls Harriet Vine and Rosie Wolfenden are known for their unconventional - sometimes quirky - accessories that achieved art status.
And know - to come to an end: Roby Ryan hooked-up with Tatty Devine to create a limited edition jewellery line based on theme´s from Rob Ryan´s work. The jewellery is incorporated in Ryan´s unique paper cut´s for an exhibition at the Brick Lane shop´s gallery and turned out very unique. My favorite piece is the heart necklace: “Life and love are made up of the simple small things, which make up all the pieces of our hearts”. Unfortunately, the jewellery is high priced…so you better get ready for a beau that has this artsy taste on the one hand…and a filled petty cash on the other

Ladyfingers dress by WEAR IT FOR THE BOY
4. April 2008 Designers & Labels, Knitwear, Rare & LimitedThe limited ladyfingers dress by WEAR IT FOR THE BOY is made from handmade knitted shiny cotton from Italy. A special knitting technique makes the dress very light in spite of the big shape and draped look and I state that it´s one of THE dresses you will wear on and on and on and on and on.
WEAR IT FOR THE BOY is a Danish knitwear brand that, founded in 2007 by designer Rikke Jo and remarkable for high-quality materials and graphic, colorful patterns (especially the jacquard patterns) that vitalize the pure shapes with a twist of humor.
Besides the very unique and limited ladyfingers dress, there´s a small spring collection - called Lumbawear- that is inspired by the Nordic pine woods and made of 100% organic cotton. The knitted tights, the bodys and the shrug round off your style as single pieces, but if you prefer a complete wear it for the boy outfit, you should rather play the urban streetcat than going to an official business meeting. I hope, we will see soon more unique knitwear garments by WEAR IT FOR THE BOY, it´s one of the fresh, attractive new brands with an own style signature.

Jaime Hayon for Camper Shoes
6. March 2008 Designers & Labels, Rare & Limited, Shoes & Sneakers
In 2007, Designer Jaime Hayon teamed up with Camper to design the Barcelona Store, now, the cooperation became more product orientated and gives birth to a Hayon´s-Camper Model that is
“a sporty shoe with a touch of elegance, or vice versa, that hides some surprises that make it all the more special, like the feel of the laces or the linen interior“. The fusion of style, soft and organic forms and mix of materials as well as the manufacturing quality are the characteristic elements of the new shoe model that comes in as well in black and white as in bright colors like pink, green and blue.
“I wanted to find a form that stylized the foot, like the tap dancing shoes. I have always liked the character of dance shoes because they remind me of a music-hall. The women’s shoe is a constant inspiration, contrary to those for men that aren’t as exciting. I wanted to make a simple shoe but one that had character, in solid colors but that were special enough to give identity to a way of dressing. If for me, and also for many others, glasses are important in creating the personality of a person, I think that shoes should be so too“. Jaime Hayon
Here, you see some pictures of Hayon´s store design for Camper:

Spanish artist / designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid 1974. He trained as an industrial designer in Madrid and Paris. In 1997, he began working as a researcher in Fabrica, Benetton Group’s communication research center in Treviso, Italy. A year later, he was appointed, by Mr. Luciano Benetton and communication guru Oliviero Toscani, head of the design department, where he oversaw the development of interiors for shops, exhibitions and restaurants as well as books, magazines and logo designs. In 2004, he began his individual career and has kept his hands full with eclectic projects. From toys, to furniture and interior design as well as artistic installations, his boldness has been transcending the borders of the often separated worlds of art and design, merging his own style with ease between the two. Hayon bathroom collection, AQHayon, for Artquitect Launched in 2005, caused a tremor in the bathroom industry and design community and placed him on the forefront of the design tendencies. Being a multifaceted creator, Jaime’s work has developed in diverse areas: from curatorial roles, to those of an artist, to that of a designer. (From Jaime Hayon´s website).

When legends go for a Tete-a-tete - Clarks Wallabee “Futura”
19. February 2008 Rare & Limited, Shoes & SneakersIf you wanna bee the owner of one of the strictly limited Clarks Wallabee “Futura” you should better be fast in elbowing your way to get the special edition. For the second time, Graffiti-legend Futura teamed up with Clarks to customize the famous Wallabee model that was once introduced by Lane Clark in 1965.
Based on the comfortable Clarks Wallabee with a black suede upper and chocolate brown premium leather sidewall Futura added his key signatures. His trademark the atomic ring tag was laser-etched into the brown side leather and with camouflage laces on top Futura repeats a motif that he uses since his days in the US-Navy. In spite of artsy graffiti-influences the “Futura” still stays a origin Wallabee with the obligatory crepe sole and the famous matchless comfort. The result of the game of two living legends is a felicitous contemporary footgear for urban movers ´n shakers.
