Foxy Hotel Fox?

This morning, we strolled around our hotel and got a glimpse of some other hotel rooms. It´s Hotel Fox - a hotel that opened three years ago as part of the Volkswagen Fox car presentation. Announced as “the world´s most exciting and creative lifestyle hotel” Hotel Fox promises unique spartial experiences and great service. 21 international artists from the fields of graphic design, urban art and illustration turned an old hotel into a funky design house and while Miguel was involved in that project in 2005, he really wanted to see that hotel again. Regarding the prices and remembering all the commendable magazine reports about Hotel Fox my expectations were high. Maybe way too high. While the staff is really nice and friendly, the accouterments and the cleanliness of the rooms were little—uuuhhm—disappointing. It´s still fantastic to be here and to have seen that unique hotel project, but comparing “what you pay to what you get” Hotel Fox is an nice, expensive nice hostel hotel, but unfortunately not at all “the world´s most exciting and creative lifestyle hotel”.

Ich habe schon von diesem Hotel gehört, das ging ja damals ziemlich durch die Presse. Es ist auf jeden Fall interessant zu sehen was dabei rauskommt wenn so viele Künstler an einem Projekt arbeiten. Obwohl dein Resümee sich ja nicht so positiv anhört, ich würde mir das Hotel sehr gerne mal ansehen.
Hey Jana, auf jeden Fall ist das Projekt Fox das spannendste und größte Marketing/PR-Projekt, das ein deutsches Unternehmen im urbanen Raum auf die Beine gestellt hat. Gallerie und Club sind nicht mehr vorhanden - Hotel Fox sollte jedoch noch für mind. 5 weitere Jahre nach Launch des VW Fox´ geöffnet sein. Da dieses Hotel sicher noch einige Jahre bestehen bleiben wird - aber nicht für die Ewigkeit gemacht ist - war es fantastisch, dort gewesen zu sein. Wie ich jedoch bereits schrieb: Ich hatte wohl etwas zu hohe Erwartungen.
Ich bereue den Besuch jedoch nicht, würde jedoch beim nächsten Mal nicht gleich 3 Nächte dort übernachten.
