Long time no see
28. July 2009 BlogwatchFolks, i am deeply sorry for the lack of posts these days. Due to incredible much work i had to pause a little bit on the zoo. But now, incredibly happy to be back on the track, the great and nasty news:
The enjoyable: in future, i am contributing to SOUNDS LIKE Me, the new corporate Nokia blog, where i will not only focus on the fashionable side of life, but also on art, trends, gadgets and online applications.
The creepy: meanwhile i was working dusk till dawn and further, facebookand some of its “third party advertisers” whore out my photo. My “fake-me” apparently became very active a s a flirt-machine and brought an incredible amount of male “friend requests” to my “real-facebook-me”. If there´s anyone out there in the need of male flirt partners – let me know, i´ll forward you some
.
Joking aside. Take this serious: FACEBOOK has agreed to let third party advertisers use your posted pictures WITHOUT your permission. Click on SETTINGS up at the top where you see the Log out link. Select Privacy. Then select NEWSFEEDS and WALL. Next select the tab that reads FACEBOOK ADS. There is a drop down box, select NO ONE. Then SAVE your changes. (REPOST to let your friends know!)
And be aware, even if Facebook pretends not to secretly sell out user photos, the story that happened to me, is a sad example of data misuse and bad customer service. I never added any kind of dating application to my facebook-profile, i never became member of dating communities and never showed interest in the online flirt thing. Why my photo was misused and my “Fake-Me” even sent out “gifts” to men is a secret neither Facebook, nor it´s third party advertisers like to tell me.
SHAME ON YOU!

Don´t worry, What´s Wrong With The Zoo isn´t going porn - instead, I have a look towards south. To Munich, Germany. In the midst of the Glockenbachviertel, the AMEN Store doesn´t only hawk unique mirroring but also cares about the good style. (read on)
