Maria Francesca Pepe – Les fabulous C

As a jewelry designer, she raised the fashion crowd by storm. Massive pieces with extroverted charme and cool elegance are significant elements of Maria Francesca Pepes portfolio and the translation of her avant-garde signature into the accessories-segment worked at first go.

But when the London-based designer included fashion designs into her last collection “Art Brut” the strong affection I always felt, when Maria Francesca Pepe came up with new collections, just …did not appear. Still, “Art Brut” was strong and probably rightly vowed by many although it didn´t express Maria Francesca Pepe´s usual strength and uniqueness.
Maybe it was the shots, or maybe my level of expectations rose to high trough Maria Francesca´s undoubtful talent as a jewelry designer. I missed the big “wow” and am truly happy to get it back with the fabulous “Les C” collection.

Inspired by the 19th century fashionable French prostitutes, art-deco, the garconnes of 1920′s and the sharpness of early seventies lines, Maria Francesca Pepe presents strong pieces for body and limbs.

In „Les C”, jewelry and clothing are a perfect match for a cool, architectonical elegance which shows as well playful and as more severe facets. The certain erotic elegance, Maria Francesca Pepe uniquely creates in her designs, runs like a read thread through the whole collection and finally, I feel the magic again.
