Maria Francesca Pepe - Mucha
11. September 2008 Accessories & JewelryAfter the heavy weighting, voluminous and silver dominated “Paradoxa” collection which I adored, Maria Francesca Pepe´s winter collection comes along way more soft and floating. Working with materials such as calf, iguana and caiman, sheep skin and brass Pepe gave the “Mucha” pieces a more flowing, fleet-fooded impression. The oversized shapes stay, but are supplemented by some more filigree pieces and although I have to admit that I am not yet of the fashion-forward mark for leather-wobblings around my neck – I totally got for Maria Francesca Pepe and her unique handwriting in jewelry design. Uncompromisingly following the intension that her jewelry “draws a new body shape and changes the perception of a dress. It is a new way of wearing a jewel as a personal style’s primal focus. Jewellery it’s not the final touch anymore, it is where style begins” Pepe´s one of THE innovative and unique jewelry designers of the now and worth to look up to.

Alice Dellal is the girl on the photos, actually also featured in Vice Magazine, involved in some drug rumors and face of the current Mango campaign.
