They call themselves ADIEU - i dare to state, they rather shoud rename in "BUT HELLO". No clue, who`s behind the T-Shirt label, but definitely a clue on how great the shirts stand out from the crownd of random "printed T-Shirt boredom" we find in so many "young designer" T-Shirt corners. “The Cactus, The Bear, and The Mountain” is not a children book, it`s an ecological knitwear collection inspired by limit challenging youthful curiosity, taking visual cues from Indian culture. Created within 11 weeks by The Danish Design Scholl students Tine Winther Rysgaard and Trine Kristoffersen for the for Innovating Sustainable Fashion Competition 2009. Nicolas Chevallier is rather a painter than a designer. With his young label 180g the French is turning what appears as a funny idea into an attractive business model: he paints clothes. An he paints them in a way that makes them even look better than before. One look at the Nike`s might be enough to explain what he`s aiming for. I like. Wich he could get over to paint my wardrobe mistakes into most-loved pieces.
Finally, Mary Scherpe, the head behind Stil in Berlin, launches her own magazine. Celebration will take place Saturday in Berlin at Kim. More Info here.
Grandmother was as important as Parsons? When it comes to formal education, this statement seems kind of naïve. But still, Jen Kao who was formally trained at NYU and Parsons before coming up with her first collection in 2007 describes her family, especially her Japanese grandmother as huge influence on her design approaches.
