This is pure sculpture perfection. “The Invisible Shoe†is one of four stunning conceptual shoes by Andreia Chaves, a Brazilian footwear designer. On Yatzer, you can find more and on today and tomorrow, Pieter tells you, for which fashion designer collection The Invisible Shoes would be the perfect match. (more…)

Nicolas Chevallier is rather a painter than a designer. With his young label 180g the French is turning what appears as a funny idea into an attractive business model: he paints clothes. An he paints them in a way that makes them even look better than before. One look at the Nike`s might be enough to explain what he`s aiming for. I like. Wich he could get over to paint my wardrobe mistakes into most-loved pieces. (more…)

Indeed, Raphael Young`s creations are the opposite of clothing items. His artwork called shoe is beyond all characteristics of an accessories. It´s nothing that completes an outfit – it`s the outfit maker itself. And so I dare to state, that instead of “urbanising haute couture shoes†– like Raphael Young himself considers his design attitude-, he´s “couturizing urban shoesâ€.

Platform, architectural and geometric shapes as well as material-mixes have been seen multiple times in shoe design. But the way, the Seoul-born designer courageously forces up those attributes to a uber-pointed scale, is beyond prêt-a-porter, it`s shoe couture and true master class. Compared to what we´ve seen in his first collection, Raphael Young´s autumn/winter pieces push the level of shoe design out of reach for a standard fashionista but into the scale of the superior fashion. I am curious how far the designer will go with his third collection.

No doubt, Helsinki-based shoe designer Minna Parikka loves shoes more than anything else. In the age of 15, she designed her first pair of shoes, today, more than 10 years later, the Finnish woman leads a small shoe brand for exclusive and elegant footwear.
With her shoe fetish masks, Minna Parikka presents for the first time her ability to transfer the foot accessoire in a more artsy discipline and i am pretty sure, she will turn heads with this unconventional translation of shoes into the fetish discipline.

When a graduate project becomes a sneaker brand it´s Flaek. Sven and Oliver, two German media-design students aimed high when they came up with the idea to create nothing less than „the best sneaker. Ever“. While their fellow students hustle pixels on their monitors, the pals who consider themselves as sneaker-holics go for real stuff.

Being “neither product designers nor brand-strategistsâ€, the Flaek-Duo faces quite a challenge with not only making the brand, but also, making the shoes. (more…)
