Sibling bangs - barely two months old, the new bold and in-your-face men’s knitwear label leads the way. With luxurious materials, eye-catching designs and prices that make me dizzy, the three east-end designers Sid Bryan, Cozette McCreery and Joe Bates give knitwear for men a kick up the arse and subvert the classic knitwear styles in a playful and progressive way. With (for example) sequined Breton twinsets, beaded Leopard twinsets, a hand-embroidered Carousel pony head sweater the Sibling designs are totally avant-garde without producing a painful exerted impression.
Honor to whom honor is due - Sibling wow´s me away for today and I strongly recommend the interview with Bryan, McCreery and Bates, Hint Magazine published here.sibling-progressive-knitwear-menswear-london_12.jpgsibling-progressive-knitwear-menswear-london_88.jpg

  1. Does every male model have to look gay or what? And the hair! That red head guys hairdo is really horrible.

The clothes aren’t completely horrible but why the fuck pink! This whole “men should wear pink” is one of the worst trends I can remember.

  2. oh my dearest rz,
pls. have in mind that SIBLING is a label from the eastern part of London - so, people that go out there are little bit more fancy dressed than people in Unterhachingen for example It´s part of their lifestyle, it´s an attitude. But, definitely - it´s not the kind of clothing you should wear when you go for a career in politics :-) (Nice blog by the way)

But anyway - from my point of view there´s no “men should wear pink” trend. It´s more about “men can wear pink”.

The “gay look” is maybe because the model IS just gay. No big deal. Shouldn´t be a theme that needs to be discussed. Fashion, clubculture, music and art - these are fields, gay personalities are very common and usual.

And rz, please don´t forget - what´s wrong with the zoo wouldn´t be what´s wrong with the zoo if not very open to the fashion avant-garde. It´s directed to a fashion-loving target group that gets inspired by labels like SIBLING. Personally - for example, i don´t think, this kind of fashion would be the right thing for my big belly boyfriend - and i would never ever engourage him to wear a sequined top, but still, i admire designers that dare to do sth. different, sth. special, sth. that doesn´t fit the mainstream taste. This is what design is about: innovation, inspiration, creativity and liberty.
And this is, why SIBLING is one of the greatest labels i´ve seen during the last weeks.

rz, i go for your comments. although we don´t seem to have the same opinions about fashion - you are a great commentator, you make me think and i hope to hear from you more often. Best, Judith
