Streetstyles go Runway – Darryl Natale with “Common People”
7. July 2009 Calls & Events, Weekly Darlin
What would have been a small side-kick event during Berlin Fashion Week before the streetstyle-blogger era arose, became a sympathetic runway show highlight – Darryl Natale´s “Common People” fashion show in the context of Wedding Dress#4.
For the second time, Toronto-born founder of Streetclash and Stil in Berlin photographer Darryl Natale brought people from Berlins streets on the runway, wowing the audience with an enjoyable potpourri of extravagance and creativity.
The “models” themselves – casted from the street – seemed not only to enjoy the attention of the complaisant audience but also being aware of the high quality of their individual fashion statements.
From streetstyle-blog to runway – it´s only a matter of time till Darryl Natale´s idea will find eager copycats. It´s just a very logical contunation of streetstyle blogs and streetstyle exhibitions with less design but tons of fashion and consumption culture.
