Beloved butterfly, when we were kids, we sung about your beauty – since we are grown up, we abstain from singing and switched to creating. We still like you so much that you´re very often involved in designers output. I guess, you were pleased about the butterfly headdresses by Alexander McQueen – those even looked coy on princess Beatrice. That you and Uma Thurman hit it off is obviously shown in Another Magazine and when it comes to butterfly-inspired jewelry, even the designers stay in the ballpark.
Putting you on walls comes out great when you have a look at Paul Villinski´s trash artwork but street-artist Pure Evil unfortunately has to bring more to not bore us away. Putting you on dresses to beat your heartbeat controlled wings might be technically interesting – but when you go to a hot date, it´ll give you for sure a hyper-creepy touch. I´m sorry, beloved butterfly for this kind of abuse. The color changing eco lights…wmauh…we better forget about this plastic cruelty. More butterfly-inspired creations can be seen here. Three keywords standing for excellent fashion, for remarkable talent and for a harmonic mélange of design, material and manufacturing.
HE is Stefan Eckert. After studying in London and working in London and Paris, Stefan Eckert moved back to his hometown Hamburg, Germany, to develop his first collection „Take me home, Baby”. The feminine and romantic pieces center both the femaleness and the fragility of woman. The fact that Galeries Lafayettes sells his debut collection exclusively underlines, that we are on the right track when being excited about Eckert´s creations and that we are well advised to keep an eye on the aspiring designer.

Unfortunately for men only: the spray effect painted lace up shoes from the Alexander Mcqueen SS08 collection. The style is a solid lace up, while the finish is a very unique and interesting spray paint finish. Available from oki-ni.com this season in a strong yellow and a loose black colourway this is a very distinctive shoe. I love them, hope you do too.
