Pergament Pioneer - Jewelry by Ulrike Hamm
1. May 2008 Accessories & Jewelry, Art & Fashion

For more than two thausend years, pergament is used to describe and to write about the world.
Berlin based goldsmith Ulrike Hamm pushed the level. Her goal is, to explore and to develop the not yet utilized possibilities of jewelry made out of pergament.
“Pergament is no cookie-cutter material that is delivered in standardized form. Pergament is balky, mysterious, vivid, precious and capricious … a material that needs to be perceived, conquered, developed. Inspired by it´s appearance and it´s characteristics I always divine new things that I want to trace.” This is how Ulrike Hamm describes her fascination for the unusual jewelry-material.

We are happy about her pioneering spirit - where else could we get butterfly-like jewelry for head and body? The only question I have is, if the beautiful pergament jewelry will survive one long party night….
