Exhausted, thirsty and highly saturated by stylespirations I shoved myself to the last floor at the Bright Tradeshow in February. Hours of rattling, never ending collection viewings and shouldering a crammed bag with flyers and catalogues I only wanted ONE THING: to go home. Fast. Now.
This changed in sudden bursts.
An inconspicuous room, gentle sounds and an unintrusive, scatty young man who put some T-Shirts on the wall let me stop. It was good not to have lost steam on the home stretch.
The T-Shirt label 5th Exotic was silhouetted against the - usual for Bright Tradeshow- Skater-sneakers-Streetwear-Style. Not so decorous-complaisant and with a headstrong style the young label presented itself very unagitated with some hand- and screendrawn T-Shirt prints and an attitude that tends towards art more than to BlingBling fashion business.
Granted, 5th Exotic didn´t reinvent the wheel, impartial, it´s just “one of those T-Shirt labels, BUT, likewise the labels for example 5Preview and The Lousy Livincompany it´s one of those labels that doesn´t incredibly bore like all those “we do a T-Shirt Contest and put some silly prints on cotton” projects.
For my share, I was pretty happy about not going earlier. It would have been a real pitty not to run in this surprisingly finding. I am looking forward to new creations by 5th Exotic and will keep you updated. For those who want to buy - of course - the likable label has it´s own little online shop.
