180g – The Garment Painters

2. December 2009 DIY & Customizing, Shoes & Sneakers Judith

180grammes_nike_limited_1180grammes_nike_limited_3Nicolas Chevallier is rather a painter than a designer. With his young label 180g the French is turning what appears as a funny idea into an attractive business model: he paints clothes. An he paints them in a way that makes them even look better than before. One look at the Nike`s might be enough to explain what he`s aiming for. I like. Wich he could get over to paint my wardrobe mistakes into most-loved pieces. (more…)

Sabrina Dehoff – Sneaker Jewelry for Nike Air Max 1

8. July 2009 Accessories & Jewelry, Shoes & Sneakers Judith

Being a sincere fan of Sabrina Dehoff, i have to admit, that her “Sweet Surrender” show in the context of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin hasn´t had a big impact on me. It was about likeable, soft and floating clothes – highly wearable and beautiful, but without this unique emotional, technical or creative features that let the pieces differ from current zeitgeist-fashion.

But honestly – that doesn´t matter for me.  Sabrina Dehoff is an incredible talented jewelry designer who started not long ago to add some beautifully printed, simple dresses to her collection.

It would have been miraculous, if the Berlin-based designer would have come up with a clothing collection matching the level of her forward jewelry designs. (more…)

Wooden Nike

6. October 2008 Art & Fashion, Shoes & Sneakers Judith

Greece is for Lovers is a Greek Design studio, i became aware of through Mademoiselle “Très Plus Cool” Fenke. The wooden Nike by Greece is for Lovers was part of the Nike-Showstudio art-project 1/1 Art of Football that was shown in Basel during the European Football Championship. While the Football-Mania and the Exhibition are over, the Showstudio exhibition gallery still presents selected artwork. Worth to watch.

Sneaker-Burger – Nike Air Max 90 interpreted by Ole Hemmendorff

14. August 2008 Art & Fashion, Shoes & Sneakers Judith

The great thing about Nike? Most of the time, they aren´t only one step ahead in marketing, communication, design and the “creating a hype-thing”, they also have an eye for picking the great when it comes to the fancy-artsy projects.  With Ole Hemmendorff, Nike wasn´t only picking the right…Nike was picking the “wowing”-one. 8 artists were asked for interpretating a Nike icon – Hemmendorff did it this way. Blasting!
The Nike-Burger aka Air Max 90 interpretation is shown inside Sneakersnstuff in Stockholm. Hope it doesn´t start to smell.
