Remember NDEUR, Europe´s most famous shoe customizer?
He´s causing quite a stir with his new discipline: paper folding. With this stunning heels and some more paper artwork you can see here, the French artist promotes a new design studio, he founded together with the Make a Paper World Duo. Shoe designers and their hallmarks? Easy to think of red soles and the mascot Carry Bradshaw. Reversed spoilers haven´t been yet the first thing that´s coming into my mind. But, what do I blabber – Nicholas Kirkwood would shudder if being confronted with my uncouth way of talking.
What reminds me of reversed spoilers is called “slanted sole” and this is, besides vertiginous stiletto heels and the courageous play with shapes and materials, the young designer´s hallmark.
Nicholas Kirkwood is an exceptional talent. With only 28 years of age, the Central Saint Martin´s graduate hasn´t only made his mark in fashion and design industry, he also developed very unique and unprecedented design handwriting. Keenly, the London-based designer mixes provocation and aggressiveness with female- and sexiness. Slickfully, Kirkwood unites clear shapes and avant-gardistic forms with rare material-mixes and highly self-confident he admits, that his shoes indeed aren´t for everybody but the forward (more…)



Today, i feel like a schlemiel. For the whole summer i was hunting after the “perfect” wedges. I knew, there must be a shoe out there that is smart enough, exciting enough and sexy enough to let my vague dream of the “perfect” wedge become reality. Weeks went by, my search didn´t come to an end…but unfortunately, my wallet got more and more empty because instead of finding the “perfect” wedge i found lots of shoes that “are Ok”….Hummm…and now, now i am staring at my “perfect” wedges. Now! Summer is gone, money away. Not the luckiest day in my life.
