Gap, Pantone and the reinterpreting of ideas

27. January 2009 Campaigns & Ads, T-Shirts & Hoodies Judith

As some of you might already know: Gap teamed up with Pantone to offer in a special pop-up store a limited-edition set of basic T-Shirts based on certain colors in the Pantone spectrum.
Nice pr-gag – the photos travel the worldwide web.
But what some of you might not know: Japanese brand UNIQLO already came up before with that idea and did a series of limited-edition T-Shirts and cashmere sweaters based on the Pantone colors… (more…)

OAK NYC – Limited “Bond Age” Edition

10. September 2008 Shop Judith

For celebrating fashion week OAK invited some of their favorite designers to “explore their inner kinks” and to create some limited pieces that evoke a bondage-impression and are exclusively sold at the NY-based online-store.  While i totally go for the OAK store as my favorite online store in the now, i anyway like the idea of limited editions. Bondage themes are a big issue in fashion design at the moment, and even when some of the pieces are way to agressive and pointed for me, i am in love with the strong visual effect of the product presentations. The black feather headband by boyfriend (below) is my darlin´of the day – and i´m little bit sad that my haircut doesn´t fit that kind of accessoires. Louis Vuitton – Cologne Shop Window Design for Damier Graphite Collection

8. September 2008 Shop Judith

Shop Windows are invitations.
Invitations to hold, to smirk, to wish and of course, to conductive buying decisions.
But since the vertical brands get the upper hand in city centers it´s really unusual that I feel invited. If it´s in Barcelona, London, Stockholm, Berlin or Paris – At Mango, Penélope und Mónica Cruz gape at me and at H&M it´s the always white-faceless dolls that bring (in a totally synchronized manner) their weekly changing trends like check, or gipsy or high waist-trends into towns. While weather is fooling me with rain and temperatures that doesn´t fit the expected summer highs, i remember my post about “the umbrella as an undervalued style icon”. Brolliesgalore is the today´s finding leaping to my eye. With hundreds of umbrellas, the UK-based stores offers a huge variety of rain accessories that range from artsy to luxury, from childish to classic, from bright to clean. At least – one joy today.
