We become Thirty

All of us have to become thirty.
And it´s not as horrible as it seems - they say. My friends, my acquaintances and my colleagues. “With thirty, life just begins”, “You´ll take everything more relaxed”, “Sex will even get better”. And you become more beautiful and so on and so on.
Break.
Thinking of the big thirty, inside of me, it´s shouting for post-youth-depression, varicose veins and peau d´orange. So it´s great to see, that they age with my. My early loves.
And they haven´t been always male - they also have been made from canvas. They were for the brave. “Only for the brave”.
And they went directly from the Christmas wish list into the wardrobe. I was proud. I was 14. Different rules. Different live. Farewell cuteness.
In between violin lessons and ministrant tent camps shuffled music and boys. The pony courageously sprayed skywards, the holy XL Diesel sweatshirt matched with the 001: I was ready to party.
15 years later.
The super glue hairspray is gone, my thoughts go around concepts, art and „grande mode” - suddenly it crosses my path. The early cotton love. And it brings a lot. Lot of misty-eyed memories on my first kiss, on times where a warm meal was waiting for me when i came home from school, on debates on how long I can stay out… We haven´t seen us for a long time, my early love.
Diesel is going thirty. Me too. Soon.
There´s no warm meal waiting when I come home, and I stay out as long as I want. But maybe they are right with “You´ll take everything more relaxed”, “Sex will even get better”. At least, The Viral Factory tries best to not let depression sprout. They do hilariously great. And when I see, how Diesel is celebrating around the globe, I have to state: thirty seems to be a reason to have a monster-blast.
Remembering the old friendship, I forgive the campaign name “Dirty Thirty” and remind those who are in the today´s Diesel crowd to reserve the date: 10th of October. On this day, in Diesel stores around the globe, the limited Birthday Denim Diesel Jeans will be sold for 30€.
